Trust & Transparency

Trust isn’t a slogan. It’s a process.

Quick answer

A doctor is marked Verified only after our compliance team approves their licence to practise; other doctors who joined show Approved, and profiles compiled from public sources show Unclaimed. Star ratings count only reviews from patients who booked through the platform. Top Rated is a paid, labelled placement. We are funded by providers' monthly plans; we take no cut of your treatment.

Editorial policy →

This page explains how clinics and doctors are approved and verified, how reviews work, what your patient assistant does and doesn’t do, and how the platform is funded — written for patients, not lawyers.

01 — Who we are

What we are — and what we are not

We connect patients with clinics and doctors. We are not the ones who treat you, and we never handle the money for your treatment.

What we are

  • An independent platform to compare clinics and doctors.
  • Funded by providers’ monthly plans — we take no cut of your treatment.
  • On your side — a patient assistant is assigned when you open an account or send your first message, and stays on your file for 6/12 months after treatment.

What we are not

  • Not a healthcare provider. We don’t perform, prescribe or supervise treatment.
  • Not a source of medical advice. Only a licensed doctor can assess what’s right for you.
  • Not a payment collector for treatment — you always pay the clinic or doctor directly.
  • Not able to guarantee medical outcomes. No honest platform can.
A note on fees — two things, kept completely separate. Your treatment cost is always paid directly to the clinic or doctor; we never touch it. Our optional memberships (Premium and Elite) are a fee for our service, never a payment for the medical care itself. Your patient assistant and advocacy are free for every patient, and you can search, compare and request quotes for free. Full breakdown in Section 05.
02 — Verification

How we verify

Our team reviews the provider’s licence document; if it is approved, the provider receives the Verified badge. Other approved providers appear as Approved. Profiles we compiled from public sources appear as Unclaimed. Other documents the provider has uploaded are also shown on the profile.

What we review

  • Doctors — the medical licence.
  • Clinics — the clinic licence, a health tourism authorisation or an accreditation.
  • Agencies — the health tourism authorisation.

Who reviews it

The provider uploads the document from its own provider profile, and our team reviews it. Only an approved licence document gives the Verified badge.

What it does not mean

Verification confirms the document at the time of our review. It is not a guarantee of quality, safety or outcome — every medical procedure carries risks.

The rule that protects you: verification cannot be bought. Providers can join on the free Basic plan; monthly plans add extra tools. We take no commission on treatment fees, and no subscription or payment gives or improves the Verified badge. It is given only when our team approves the licence document. Advertising and verification are entirely separate.

The statuses — and how they differ

Every provider you see carries a clear status, so you always know what you’re looking at.

Verified

Our team approved the provider’s licence document. It cannot be bought.

Approved

A provider listed on the platform whose licence document has not (yet) been approved by our team.

Unclaimed

A profile compiled from public sources that the provider does not manage yet. It carries no badge, ratings or prices, and the clinic or doctor can claim it.

Sponsored

A paid advertising placement — including the “Top Rated” placement — always labelled. It affects visibility only, never verification.

A provider can be both Verified and Sponsored at once — but Sponsored alone never means Verified. The two are shown separately so you can always tell them apart.
03 — Reviews & quotes

How to compare your options

We don’t recommend a specific doctor or tell you who’s “best”. Quotes come straight to your account, and you compare your options against clear, factual criteria — so you decide.

What you can compare

  • Status — Verified, Approved or Unclaimed, as described above.
  • Price — published prices, with the final quote always confirmed by the provider.
  • Reviews — ratings come only from reviews by patients who booked through us; a Google/Trustpilot rating is shown separately and is not verified.
  • Specialty — the doctor’s field matches the treatment you asked about.
  • Language — staff who speak your language.
  • Location — where the treatment takes place.

Questions about a quote?

You can ask your patient assistant about any quote by message. Your assistant is independent of the clinics and free for every patient.

Always true. Comparing facts is not medical advice. Whether a treatment is medically suitable for you is decided only by the doctor. The final choice is always yours. Payment never changes a provider’s status, and every paid placement is labelled.
04 — Your assistant

How we help patients

A patient assistant is assigned when you open an account or send your first message, and stays on your file for 6/12 months after treatment.

What your assistant does

  • Helps you by message, before, during and after treatment.
  • Answers questions about providers, quotes, your booking and your recovery.
  • Supports you by message if a problem arises with a provider.

What it does not do

  • It is not insurance. We don’t pay compensation or cover treatment costs.
  • It is not medical care. We don’t treat, diagnose or provide clinical services.
  • It is not legal representation.
Free for every patient. Your patient assistant and advocacy are free for every patient — with or without a membership.
05 — How we earn

How we make money

You deserve to know exactly how we earn. The platform is funded by providers’ monthly plans; we take no cut of your treatment.

The rule above all. A clinic or doctor can pay us for visibility — but never for verification. “Verified” can’t be bought. Only clearly labelled advertising space can.

Provider monthly plans — our main model

Providers can join on the free Basic plan; a monthly plan adds extra tools. We take no cut of your treatment, so we don’t earn more when you pick a pricier clinic.

Sponsored visibility — clearly labelled

Providers can pay for advertising placements such as “Top Rated”, which lists them first in search results for their location. Every one is labelled as a paid placement. It never changes “Verified” status.

Optional patient memberships

Search, compare and request quotes are free, and your patient assistant and advocacy are free for every patient. Premium and Elite are optional memberships — a fee for our platform, separate from and never part of your treatment cost. See membership plans.

06 — Your data

Your data & privacy

Any health information you share is processed only with your explicit consent and used to connect you with the providers you choose. We apply a single, high standard of data protection to every patient, everywhere — modelled on GDPR — rather than weaker rules for some regions. Where your information is shared with a clinic abroad, we use appropriate safeguards for that transfer. You can request access to, or deletion of, your data at any time.

Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
07 — Glossary

Plain meanings

We use these words carefully. Here’s exactly what we mean by each one.

Our team approved the provider’s licence document. It is not a guarantee of quality or outcome, and it cannot be bought.

Approved

A provider listed on the platform whose licence document has not (yet) been approved.

Unclaimed

A profile compiled from public sources that the provider does not manage yet. It carries no badge, ratings or prices, and the clinic or doctor can claim it.

Sponsored / Top Rated placement

An advertising position a provider paid for, always labelled. Affects visibility only — never verification.

Platform

A service that provides information and comparison. Not a healthcare provider.

Reviews

Ratings come only from reviews by patients who booked through us; a Google/Trustpilot rating is shown separately and is not verified.

Patient assistant

Help by message, assigned when you open an account or send your first message, staying on your file for 6/12 months after treatment. Not insurance, compensation or legal representation.

Treatment cost

The price of your care, always paid directly to the clinic or doctor, never to us.

Membership fee

An optional fee for Premium or Elite membership. Not a payment for treatment.

No cut of your treatment

The platform is funded by providers’ monthly plans; we take no cut of your treatment.

08 — By destination

Rules by destination country

Understand this first: providers can apply from any country; patients come from every country. The treatment itself — the clinic’s obligations, licensing and responsibility for complications — is governed by the laws of the country where you receive care. The general information below is for reference only.
TR Turkey

Regulator: Health facilities are licensed by the Ministry of Health.

MX Mexico

Regulator: Clinics are licensed by COFEPRIS; surgeons are certified by CONACEM.

HU Hungary

Regulator: Clinics are licensed under the national health authority (NNGYK); doctors are registered with the Hungarian Medical Chamber (MOK).

TH Thailand

Regulator: Clinics are licensed by the Ministry of Public Health; doctors are registered with the Thai Medical Council.

GB United Kingdom

Regulator: Doctors are registered with the GMC; clinics are regulated by the CQC.

US United States

Regulator: Doctors are licensed by state medical boards; board certification is through ABMS member boards.

Rules and protections for the treatment itself are governed by the laws of the country where care is delivered. If you’re unsure what applies to your case, ask your patient assistant before you book.
Reference — Notices

Standard notices

These appear across the site so their meaning is never in doubt.

Site notice

The More Clinics is an independent platform that lists clinics and doctors. We are not a healthcare provider, we do not offer medical advice, and we do not take payment for treatment — care is provided and billed directly by the providers.

Article notice (below every medical article)

This article is for general information only and is not medical advice. Treatment suitability can only be determined by a licensed doctor. The More Clinics does not provide medical services. Articles are prepared by our content team; where a listed doctor has reviewed an article medically, the doctor’s name and the review date are shown.

Unsure what applies to you?

Ask before you book. A patient assistant — independent of the clinics and free — answers by message.
