Natural Looking Dental Crowns Turkey
A dental crown is a custom cap that covers a damaged, weak or root-treated tooth, restoring its shape, strength and appearance. In Turkey, dental crowns cost around 60–70% less than in the UK or USA, using the same materials found in Western private practice. This page covers exactly what crowns cost in Turkey, the different types (zirconia, E-max, porcelain-fused-to-metal), the procedure, and — importantly — an honest look at when you need a crown versus when a gentler option like a veneer would be better.
| 🇹🇷 Turkey (zirconia) | £150 – £250 |
| 🇹🇷 Turkey (E-max) | £200 – £280 |
| 🇬🇧 UK | £500 – £1,000 |
| 🇺🇸 USA | $900 – $2,500 |
Do you really need dental crowns?
What is a dental crown?
A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that fits over a whole tooth, replacing its natural outer surface. Unlike a veneer — a thin shell bonded only to the front — a crown covers the tooth completely, which is why it's used when a tooth is significantly damaged, decayed, cracked, worn, or has had root canal treatment.
It restores strength and function as well as appearance. Crowns are also used to top dental implants and to anchor bridges. When your tooth needs that level of protection, a crown is the right tool — but on a healthy tooth that only needs a cosmetic change, it's more than you need (more on that below).

Types of dental crown
| Type | Turkey cost/tooth | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Zirconia | £150 – £250 | The strongest, metal-free — ideal for back teeth, grinders, root-treated teeth; lasts 15+ years |
| E-max (lithium disilicate) | £200 – £280 | The most aesthetic, natural translucency — ideal for front teeth |
| Porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) | from £100 | Budget option; a metal base can show a grey line at the gum over time |
For most patients the choice is between zirconia and E-max: zirconia wins on raw strength (roughly twice as strong), E-max wins on front-tooth aesthetics. Many smile plans combine both — zirconia on the back teeth where chewing force is highest, E-max in the "smile zone" where appearance matters most.
If you're specifically interested in E-max, our dedicated E-max crowns guide goes into detail on the material, shades and lifespan. Whichever you choose, always ask the clinic to confirm the exact material and brand in writing before paying.

Crown cost in Turkey vs UK & USA
In Turkey, an all-inclusive Antalya package runs roughly £150–£250 for a zirconia crown and £200–£280 for an E-max crown — around 60–70% less than UK private fees (£500–£1,000) and even more against the US ($900–$2,500). A full arch or full-mouth of crowns (20–28 teeth) typically costs £3,000–£5,000 as a package.
The saving is real because Turkish clinics have far lower overheads and often make the crowns in their own lab — and because consultation, X-rays, temporary crowns, hotel and transfers are usually bundled into the quote, whereas in the UK and US they're frequently charged separately.
Crown or veneer — which do you actually need?
This is the most important question — and where we'll be honest with you. A crown covers the whole tooth and removes a substantial amount of it; a veneer is a thin shell that needs only 0.3–0.7mm of preparation, leaving most of your natural tooth untouched. If your tooth is damaged — decayed, cracked, worn, or root-treated — a crown is the right, protective choice.
But if your teeth are healthy and you only want a cosmetic change, a veneer or composite bonding is the more conservative option, and a good clinic will tell you that rather than crowning healthy teeth unnecessarily. This is the heart of the "Turkey teeth" controversy — we explain it fully in our honest guide to what "Turkey teeth" really means. We won't file down healthy teeth for crowns when a gentler option would serve you better.
The procedure and timeline
Getting a crown in Turkey is straightforward and usually done in a single 5–7 day trip, because the crowns are made in the clinic's own lab. On your first appointment, the tooth is prepared (shaped to receive the crown), impressions or a digital scan are taken, and a temporary crown is fitted.
Your permanent crown is then crafted and, a few days later, tried in, adjusted for fit and colour, and cemented in place. For a single crown or a full arch, the same trip usually covers it. If the tooth needs root canal treatment first, that's planned into the schedule.

How much does a dental crown cost in Turkey?
Around £150–£250 for zirconia and £200–£280 for E-max per tooth, all-inclusive — versus £500–£1,000 in the UK or $900–$2,500 in the US, a saving of 60–70%. A full arch of 20 crowns is typically £3,000–£5,000.
Zirconia or E-max — which crown is better?
Neither universally. Zirconia is stronger (best for back teeth, grinders and root-treated teeth); E-max is more aesthetic (best for front teeth). Many plans combine both. See our E-max guide for the material in detail.
Do I need a crown or a veneer?
A crown covers a damaged, decayed or root-treated tooth (and removes more tooth); a veneer is a thin shell for a healthy tooth needing only a cosmetic change (minimal reduction). An honest clinic recommends the least invasive option that suits your teeth.
How long does it take?
Usually a single 5–7 day trip, since crowns are made in the clinic's own lab. Tooth prepared and temporary fitted first, permanent crown tried in and cemented a few days later.
How long do crowns last?
Zirconia and E-max crowns last around 10–20 years with good care; long-term studies report survival above 95% at 10+ years. Reputable clinics offer a written guarantee. Keep your treatment plan and material certificate for your home dentist.
The Last Word from The More Clinics
A crown is the right, protective restoration for a damaged or root-treated tooth — and Turkey lets you have it in the same premium materials for 60–70% below UK and US prices, usually in a single trip.
The honest key is making sure you actually need a crown rather than a gentler veneer, and choosing the right material for each tooth. Send us a photo or X-ray and we'll tell you straight what you need — and we won't crown a healthy tooth that would be better with a veneer.
